Trigger a HubSpot workflow from a classification
How it works
Every time Email Classifier classifies a message, it writes the result onto the contact as properties in an Email Classifier property group. HubSpot workflows can trigger on those properties like any other. These are derived labels, never the message content, so the privacy boundary holds.
The properties you can trigger on
- Email Classifier: Last request type (for example a quote request, a support query, a supplier invoice)
- Email Classifier: Last relationship (for example customer, partner, supplier, staff)
- Email Classifier: Last classified at (the date and time of the most recent classification)
- One property per signal in your industry preset, for example Email Classifier: Churn risk, Email Classifier: Urgency, or Email Classifier: Deal signal strength
The values always reflect the most recent classified message for that contact. If you do not see the Email Classifier property group in your portal, contact support@redyellowblue.com.au and we will enable it.
Build the workflow
- In HubSpot go to Automations > Workflows and create a Contact-based workflow.
- Set the enrolment trigger to Contact properties, then pick an Email Classifier property. For example, Email Classifier: Churn risk is any of high, or Email Classifier: Last request type is any of Customer quote.
- Add your actions: notify the contact owner, create a task, send an internal email, enroll in a sequence, or set another property.
- Turn the workflow on.
To have the workflow fire again on later messages, open the enrolment trigger settings and enable re-enrolment for that property.
Examples
- Churn risk: Churn risk is high, then notify the account manager and create a follow-up task.
- New opportunity: Last request type is any of Customer quote, then create a task for the rep and start a deal-follow-up sequence.
- Escalation: Urgency is high and Last relationship is any of Customer, then send an internal alert.
